Detection & Removal Spyware

Spyware does not exist on Mac's or Linux. Its a problem that only effects computers that use an operating system from Microsoft. These include Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, XP, 2000,2003 and more surprisingly Windows Vista. Microsoft boasted that their latest version of windows would be less vulnerable to spyware and adware infections. However, most field tests have shown that Vista is just as easy to infect as any of its predecessors.

The problem is not the operating system, its the user. We have to much trust. Adware and spyware developers make cleverly use of that trust. You would be amazed to see the tricks and cons spyware programs use to get you to install their malicious software. But with just a little common sense you can protect yourself from these con artists.

If you see a pop-up that tells you that you are infected with spyware or adware, and you have not even installed an anti spyware program. Then you should know that something strange is going on. Do not click on the advertisement. Also make sure that you check the title of the window that is giving you advise. If it says "Internet Explorer" then you can bet this message did not come from windows, but from some website trying to con you in installing malicious software.

Its hard to keep a clean computer, especially if there are more people working on your computer. They might infect your computer without you knowing it. The best thing you can to protect your computer is to install a "Spyware/adware scanner". This program works like a virus scanner, but it checks for Adware and spyware infections. Silently in the background they will scan all the files being downloaded, and alert you if there is any problem.
